In 2019, YouTube stars Austin McBroom and Catherine Paiz, better known as The ACE Family, made headlines when they moved into a jaw-dropping custom-built estate in Woodland Hills, California. The couple had taken two neighboring homes and fused them into one modern compound — a project that reportedly cost millions and was meant to symbolize the success of their growing social media careers.
The finished result was a 13,379-square-foot mansion that included 12 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a state-of-the-art kitchen, half-court basketball court, movie theater, gym, wine cellar, expansive rooftop decks, an infinity-edge swimming pool with a built-in hot tub, and a sunken trampoline embedded in the backyard. The exterior had a striking black-and-white modern design, while the interiors leaned into sleek, open-concept minimalism with soaring ceilings and luxury finishes.
But behind the scenes, financial cracks were beginning to show. By mid-2021, reports emerged that the couple had defaulted on $8.7 million in loans tied to the property. In May of that year, a notice of default was filed, beginning the foreclosure process. While Austin and Catherine initially denied the rumors publicly, insisting that everything was fine, legal filings told a different story. By October 2021, the house was officially scheduled for a foreclosure auction.
When the auction arrived, no bidders came forward. The mansion was returned to the lender, 5 Arch Funding Corporation, marking a stunning downfall for what had once been one of YouTube’s most glamorous homes. For weeks afterward, fans speculated about what went wrong, and the family quietly moved out of the property.
In May 2022, the estate finally found new owners: twin YouTubers Alan and Alex Stokes, known for their prank videos and skits. They purchased the mansion for $9.275 million — a significant drop from its original $12.9 million price tag.
